Our Digital Media Studio is happy to have many Adobe Creative Products installed. It is important that at APIS we look to expose our students to the softwares that they may encounter later in various digital fields. The Adobe Suite of products makes it easy for students to experience hands-on learning, helping them to not only experiment with their artistic ideas but also to gain practical knowledge of these useful softwares.

APIS is proud to use Autodesk Design Softwares school-wide. Their ease of access and use for students makes them the obvious choice work with. Starting in High School, students are encouraged sign-up for a FREE student account with their school issued email address. By doing this, students have access to a wide variety of software programs to utilize to use, both in the school Digital Media Lab and on their personal devices.

Inkscape is another free Vector Editing software that you can install on your computer. This software also allows students to create beautiful vector-based images that they can use to design, create, and present their ideas to their peers. This is a powerful tool that lets it users create vector drawings that can then be exported and used with our various Digital Fabrication Tools (including the Laser Cutter and CNC)

Blender is an amazing, free 3D modeling software that many 3D artists choose to use. This program is very popular with 3D sculptors, animators, and many other professionals. This program allows its users to freely model any object they can imagine and render it into beautiful images. It can also be used to create 3D models for 3D printing.

Rhino is one of the most powerful 3D modeling softwares on the market. This program allows users to freely design and model any object they can think of. Rhino also hosts a wide variety of plug-in programs that expand its capabilities, many of which can be used with our various Digital Fabrication Tools (including the Laser Cutter, CNC, and 3D printers)

SketchUp is one of the most common 3D Design softwares for a variety of professions, including Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design, and many more. This program is based off of vectors and uses them to bring them in to 3-Dimensions.
